I do not feel this way right now at all, but I think this is something I would have written about 3 to 4 months ago.

Why do I still feel pulses inside
When I clearly cannot breathe
Within my skin I am dead
But blood still rides the streams

The pain deep within each cell
Still haunts the past I knew
The place I now call hell
But the past won't say it's true

The mighty organ past my chest
Tells me I'm still alive
But the hurt beyond all the rest
Whispers that it's a lie

I know I truly died inside
'Cause I can't breathe any longer
And though in God, I confide
It doesn't make me any stronger
