A Friend Called Noise There is noise inside of me Sitting in my mind A screen that aches confusion No silence to be found Sometimes I sit inside my head With this clamour as my friend Eyes closed to the outside world Simply waiting for the end Floating on my sea of noise A blanket round my pain Words of throbbing sound Etched into my name Smear of words and notes Stuff that yawning hole Fill it with that noise Sell it to my soul That hum inside my ears Appears to be my only comfort The noise that seems to follow me Is now my last resort Don’t know how to find the silence That I dread yet seem to want Yearning for forbidden fruit Seems almost like a taunt There is a noise inside of me It’s something that I chose to need Silence is not an option I picked this misery. |
