Growing up to be a man He loves me with all his heart Tough discipline dealt out making me wish To be better Working hard to help mold me into what i am today holding my hand through All the tough times And laughing with me through The good ones Proud to call him Dad He would give his life To save mine Bound by duty, To country, self, God, and sons Everything he did, He did it with love He has shown me what life means He is in my heart, My soul, And my mind. There is a rhythm in my soul That beats every day that I live |

Wow. DK, how sad that no one welcomed you to PiP. I do hope you return and share your poems. I love how you admire your Dad. Alison |

nice....reminds me of a song I heard years ago, Some of the he words were "My Dad, now here stands a man." It was sung by the boy or young man on the Donna Reed Show....james |

I so agree with everyone, especially you James for referencing one of the greatest dedications to 'dad'. So here it is with Paul Petersen and all praises to your wonderful post DK: The Donna Reed Show : My Dad (this takes you to the google page where the song is located. The episode link wants a couple of bucks for the usage.) 88's friend She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |
