‘Always winter, never Christmas.’ That’s our running joke. If the silence ever encroaches, or the conversation lulls, say this. You’ll get some laughs. In our little college infested town, where we study like little mice; trying to figure out our maze to get the yummy morsel of cheese that awaits us at the ever-further end. Students all the time, and if you take the wrong turn, SHOCK! Uhhh… let’s not do that again. But, we’re young and stupid and more than a little bit stubborn with heads harder than Aggregated Diamond Nanorods (the diamond now outdated). So we go there again and it hurts just as much, but we have to go a third time, because, “Hey, what if it changed?” . . . It didn’t. So we’re stuck in this naïve little world, where the teachers take the place of our parents in The “We Students Know Better” case of The Supreme Court of the Democratic Republic of Unfailing Idiocy. And I might seem self-righteous, but you gotta trust me: I’m a college idiot too. I’m stuck, too, in this wintry wasteland; barren of young wisdom and heat. Soon we’ll move away—some sooner, some later— and maybe we’ll find wisdom. More likely than not, we’ll encounter more stupidity; self-made and manufactured. And perhaps a bit more cold. Most likely, we’ll have to earn our wisdom through stupidity. |

What an interesting take on college. I think I can relate. |

There's much to be learned from the school of hard knocks. As the old saying goes "those who can't do, teach"... |
