You don’t understand What it’s like to be mentally tortured every day By your own family (Or do you?) You don’t understand What it’s like to be called fat and ugly By your own grandmother (Will it ever stop?) You don’t understand What it’s like to be forgotten By your own father (Or do you?) You don’t understand How it feels to be talked about Lied about, by your own grandmother (Will it ever stop?) You don’t understand What it feels like to be paranoid Not feeling safe anywhere (Or do you?) You don’t understand This pain I feel when She is around (Will it ever stop?) You don’t understand How bad it feels to be given up By a family member (Or do you?) You don’t understand What it’s like to feel this pain Every single day (Will it ever stop?) You don’t understand What it feels like to hate Your own blood (Or do you?) You don’t understand And you never will So stop trying (Will it ever stop?) You don’t understand What it’s like Being me (Or do you?) So stop telling me Everything is going to be alright You don’t understand That I know different (Will it ever stop?) Sadness, like happiness, has its own majestic beauty and must be embraced as a valid emotion, not pushed down as an abnormality. |
