We'll meet again when time passes in a corner, a corridor between classes Perhaps I'll be studying hard at work you'll recognise me Can you sit here? Can we talk? Sitting opposite tension erased talking about how we got through that phase And I'll stare at you with a hopeful, yet teary eyed gaze How are you? Alright. yeah, You? Cool. What is this? an olive branch a stick, a stone, a speck of dust, only an 'if I must' last chance and we'll disintegrate from eachother's lives forever I'll laugh or sigh, resonating pain That looks hard. College is not any different, How's the family? Still distant Maybe you'll slurp like you used too twirling your cup, looking out the window Yawn. Because this is of no interest to you You go to leave I won't look up, staring furiously into the bottom of a cup See you around? Yeah, see you then Eyes meet. Look away I chew my pen Though perhaps, of course. It won't happen We won't speak again Never smile at eachother call ourselves 'friends' And I'll laugh as I think to myself, it's nice to pretend |
