Just because she’s never had these things doesn’t mean she doesn’t want them. She wants so many things in life, A firm Heart A steady Hand A strong Will Just because she’s never had these things doesn’t mean she doesn’t want them. She wants a shoulder to cry on When the nights get tough She wants a firm hand to hold When the boyfriend gets rough A loving smile To make her day A comforting touch To make the bruises fade Just because she’s never had these things doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve them. She needs someone to hold her When she needs a hug She needs someone to talk to Who won’t just answer with a shrug She needs a proper man Who won’t beat her ‘till she’s black and blue But the most important thing she needs Is you And now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep. And if I die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take. |
