Hearts will hold to those they find
They knew in another life.
You leave a deep imprint upon me
Permanent as a star-

Though we know that
Even stars are doomed to die.
And like a star I see you shine.
You shine so brightly within me.

And when darkness comes
I'll find you, like I have
So many times before.
I recognise the lives we're shared.

And if you sleep I'll follow you,
Though your hands may be cold-
I'll kiss your blue lips
To take away my pain.

And though we know that
Stars are doomed to die
We like them are
Blessed to be reborn.

I loved this! Melancholy but insightful that memories give us warmth and hope. Well done.
