Walk with me In the Waylaid Woods Where the Fairies dance Like flowers on the wind Hang on Hold on Sing on my dear I'll see you dancing soon Oh Heart! Pray betray me! For Judas had less reason than thou Darling dance with me In the Waylaid Wood Let me pretend for a while Just a while Let phantoms rise In the green light of summer Let me hold you in my arms Once again Oh dance with me In the Waylaid Woods Let forgetfulness charm mine eyes For I love thee And the words tear my tongue Like fire they burn And as ashes they melt In the Elves fickle Circle with the fiddle Thus we stand In the Waylaid Woods With but a kiss between us As God in Heaven smiles And we part in heavy air The words they hang between us Dear Fairies laugh at our care |
