She jams the headphones in her ears
not so much for music, but more for refrain.
A musically-induced comatose state;
her rhythmic meds to cure the pain.

An audio pill that drowns the world;
a morphine dose shot in through the ears.
Leaving no trace of the volatile drug
that hides the cuts and stems the tears.

The sound-waves imploding; collision ahead
they crash and they roll ‘cross the shore of her soul.
Her heartbeat explodes as the music begins;
it heals all the scars that have taken their toll.

Harmonically sheltered; saved by a song.
A life-saving surgery that’s purely poetic.
Her drug, her sweet morphine injected by earphones.
Her ever-melodic, lyrical anesthetic.

Nothing is more painful than realizing he meant everything to you, but you meant nothing to him. (Unknown)

Music, It's saved me this last month, The one constant, in a life where a the same roof, isn't always there. A homesick melody...Cast into a sea of stress and inconsistancy. Music and your poems. Thanks Messa.

Oh, this is wonderful. I like the flow
I love to throw on some headphones and blast the music when I've had a rough day. Enjoyed this.
