A soft-lit stage of monochrome awaits each time I gently sigh. The harsh full-light the real world brings, eclipsed by half-lit, sheltered eyes. The dancing shadows draped ‘cross lids that close to block reality. They take away the painful truth and hide my frail mentality in a veil of shade and endless grey; the ashen hues of a granite heart. The only shelter I can find to watch me slowly fall apart. A twine of smoky, silvered slate binds each tiny, fragile shred of ashes cloaking tombs of stone; dreams the truth beat down to dead. So save me, clouded, pallid lead; shadows of the light unfurled. Drops of quicksilver in my eyes obscure the harsher, crueler world. Don’t make me see reality! Don’t take my monochrome away! I’ll look through my mercurial tears and see within my shades of grey. Nothing is more painful than realizing he meant everything to you, but you meant nothing to him. (Unknown) [This message has been edited by UNTAMEDelegance (06-11-2010 11:11 AM).] |
