Don’t speak the Words Here’s the pain Laughter of the damned Simple beating hearts Innocents judged in parts Who gives out the rights? To laugh or to cry Who thus can see To proclaim the guilty? Who is the fool Who cannot see all pain? Who is the fool Who thinks he is sane? Fools don’t you know In winter and in snow All torturers are guilty When their guilt they know I cannot speak the words I meant once to say I cannot deny What I’ve now to pay My melancholy is purely my own |
