I feel the sands are slipping now Through my fingers tight As the time flies by relentless r Too fast It blurs my mind Perhaps not fast enough Everything is changing now The tides are rolling in In their course relentless In their tempest and their wind And I, warm by the truce fire Can feel the drums of war As the sand slips through my fingers Little by little, though tightly and true My grasp stands ready As the die rolls again Weighted But only lightly And I can feel it changing again I stand by my love And the joy that I have seen Ne’er spoke a word in error Held my friends above the fray And now they’re gently lowered Now I can but pray them strong As I raise the voice of comfort To the place where I belong Pause and pray in gladness And sing the present dear Hold the sand Melt into glass As the hours pour on Discipline is remembering what you want. |

It reminds me of so many of my poems. Leaving home is hard, harder than I thought. -Kate Rawr!!!!! (That means "I love you" in Dinosaur) :) |

In a way, I am glad of the difficulty. Discipline is remembering what you want. |
