If I Were To Lose You...

I wonder what would happen
if I were to lose you?

I wonder if you died,
teardrops flowing from my eyes.

I wonder if I'd stare,
too shocked to even think to care.

I'd like to think that I
wouldn't break, and wouldn't cry,

'Til there was no one else around,
No one else to hear the sound,
of my tears.

I wonder what would happen
if I were to lose you?

I wonder if I'd scream,
as the pain spilled out in streams.

I wonder if I'd know
that this time was your time to go.

I'd like to not act wrong;
I'd be brave and kind and strong
through my fears.

I'd like to think,
but cannot know
the path I'd choose;
the way I'd go.

And so until
that day is here,
I'll laugh and smile
until the tears.
