So for a while there I stopped writing sad love poems. But I guess I can't stay away. (They're easy to write about anyway.) Enjoy?

I know it was never meant to be
For the world isn't something that goes by plan
Sure, the star's might point our way
But I haven't felt anything more than

this

It isn't just a craving; a lust
that stirs my heart and very soul
Its something that I yearn for
That missing part of what makes me whole

again

For I've seen the darker side of love
Felt its burn and was once scorn
I mourned for my hope in love
Till I found it could be reborn

from the ashes

I know this isn't meant to be
For wasn't written among the stars
But I hope you know how I feel
Standing from where you are

under the midnight sky
