You’re laughing at a joke you made, I smile and roll my eyes. You say that you’re going home, then you stay here all night. I wonder, sometimes, if it’s obvious, the way my heart speeds up. When you break into a smooth dance move, can you tell that I’m coming undone? If you were mine, babe, I’d keep that smile on your face. Your eyes would smolder with sexy delight as I settled in your warm embrace. I’d make you laugh all the time, and be there when you wanted to cry. We’d go through some of life’s ups and downs, oh, if only you were mine. I wonder if you know, sometimes, the way you make my pulse leap. You do it so often, you’d HAVE to know, what you do to me physically. But when we spend a whole day together, Just doing mundane things… That’s just as powerful to me as when you make my blood sing. If you were mine, babe, I’d love you with everything I have. I’d stick with you through thick and thin, especially when things got bad. We’d laugh and live and love each other, maybe not forever, maybe just for a time. But I would always remember it fondly, the times that you were mine. You laugh again at something I say, and run your fingers through your hair. Your eyes catch mine, and it gives me hope, the way they linger there. I wonder if you ever wonder, the things I wonder all the time. I just hope we don’t miss out, because, love, we’d be great if you were mine. Don't take life so seriously. It's not permanent. |
