Whatever you say, mom. Whatever you say. I'll do what you want in my own little way. But I'll think what I want, and I'll want what I will, because you can't control what I dream. Whatever you say, dad. Whatever you say. I'll do what you tell me, but know that one day, I'll do what I want and I want to be free, because you can't prevent me from just being me. I actually kind of like it, if it matters to you at all. It has just the right amount of defiance to not make it passive. I think it’s what we’re all going through, knowing we have to listen to our parents, but still having hope because we won’t always have to deal with them. Best of all, there’s that resistance. It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have it. |
