Another extremely experimental piece where i have thrown metre out the window and just gone with the metaphorical flow. Dear Self You’re ugly and you’re flawed Just like your endless miserable bleatings And those endless miserable meetings With your faults and your mistakes And you mindless little [ ] takes You’re stuck on a cycle you picked yourself And you’re stuck on the discount shelf Of a saw dust floored supermarket That spits in your face and laughs at your hair And looks at your reflection and its well practiced flair You’re broken and you’re worthless Just like those meaningless moans and philosophies And those sickening full stops and apostrophes That dash across the page in a pattern of futile longing Why would anyone want you when you don’t even want yourself? And so you’ll bathe in a bath of your petty tears and pretty little thoughts And the would haves and should haves that spew from your mind You’ll crack open your skull and you’ll laugh at the emptiness you find You’re pathetic and you’re deserving Of the crap that you tread through with your dismal complaining With your pathetic poetry that leaks lies and falsity and treason Lined up in a row to be shot down and dissected to search for the reason For the hollow hole that inhabits your chest and swallows your head And you’re fed up of crying so you’ll laugh cruelly instead You’re ugly and you’re flawed Just like your endless miserable bleatings And those endless miserable meetings With a person who you know you’re just dying to change And who throws it straight back in your face and spits “You picked this.” |
