I remember you once said
life is your canvas
Fill it with colours
And live in excess

"Love too deeply
And laugh awfully loud
Cause this life is your life
And it’s the only one you’re allowed”

I remember you sat me
Up high on your knee
Told me forgiveness
Was always the key

“Don’t live tomorrow
Crying over past pain
Live today for today
And freedom shall reign”

I remember you whispered
In my ear one night
Let go of your fears
And your soul will ignite

“Don’t be afraid
Of what you do not know
A strangers only a stranger
Until you say hello”

I remember you promised
You’d always be here
Even in illness
You’d still stay near.

“My little one
Now don’t you cry
My love is still love
From the heavens up high”
