It’s too late to explain. Nothing remains of trust between us. Justice seems an abstract dream to you, What you do and say, just an old play that you plagiarized- a script memorized and mouthed, unfelt, for effect. You expect praise but you are too lazy even, to learn new lines. You are cold. Your speech, as old, as thin as mummy skin. Your promises broken before they are spoken. I have seen you change your wrappings, pretend to be new, but you never bathe between. I have seen beneath it all, And I still smell the old perfume. It fills the room with knives and mist. You are hoping I can’t find the door before you catch my wrist, I will not bleed for you or shed another tear. You are dead to me and it is life I crave I will not fear a knife dulled by the grave. |

quote:Profound and equally powerful poetry. If this was not a reality at one time for you, it shows an exceptional perception in describing an all too frequent occurrence in our society (or any other 'culture' for that matter). It would appear then (forgive my presumption), that you are a 'survivor' and one determined woman. Many blessings for your future happiness. One ladle serves the soup that feeds the mouths of the many. [This message has been edited by Boomer Styles (11-15-2015 12:31 AM).] |

Thank you, Boomer. I've been away a while or I would have thanked you sooner. And yes, I'm a survivor. Smiles, cee |

I've been near here in my life. A lot of strength is needed to write it, and a lot is needed to speak what is written as well. This is strong and it fights well.
