With pen affixed, Of death, she wrote The exit sign ablaze. A crucifix Upon her neck The visage in her gaze. The wintry world of fallen trees And woes for which they were Caress the snow, As vineyards grow Appendages to her. The ember youth Seclude the night Entombed beneath the tears Within the wax The waning moon That cast away her fears. The hollowed oak that meets the bone will serenade the sky She never was at such a peace; For this is how trees die. |
