A bird cries in the silent night,
A man screams in sudden plight,

A bird soars through the tar-black sky
A car glides a dead man by

A bird lands on a frosted branch
A torch glows on a lonely ranch

A bird tucks under its black wings
A fox sniffs the last of his gold rings

A bird blinks it's eyes in the soft moons light
A lantern lies silent in a broken kite

A birds black feather glides down to land
A mans bleached bones are covered with sand

The imagery is so powerful and potent, I love the simplicity of it. It is condensed down into such powerful lines and meaning. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful.
