When I open my eyes I wonder is this where I’m supposed to be Is this who I’m supposed to be? I walk thru my life In a cloud of static Watching it go by But not really seeing Hearing everyone talking But not really listening Because they all want me to be someone else They all want me to be what they never were But I don’t want to be them I want to be me I live in a shadow of lies Hoping to see a light break thru Under a weight of others expectations Trying to figure out how to touch the sky Shake off the load imprisoning me Will I be special Can I be powerful Can I turn to a mirror and see the wings I feel are there Will I touch the sky Is my reflection who I am What is it people see When I walk by them on the street Do they see the broken Do they see the torn Do they see the dark Do they see the pain Or just the reflection Blackwidowgurl |
