Many times I have cried Night after night in my bed Convinced that, to me, a full life is denied Inside my heart feels cold and dead. I know the world isn't just rainbows and butterflies Nor clean blue oceans with unpolluted sand Just vulgar thieves and flagrant lies and brown-nosed cowards to afraid to make a stand. Children play in the dirty streets and thick smog hides the sun A wife is the drum her husband beats While cement solidifies by the ton. I do not understand why we live in ignorance Although people are dying on command and in their direction we don't even cast a glance. Do not say I'm the only one who hangs my head and cries in shame For the people whose lives have come undone and those responsible deflect the blame. It makes me sick to think about how our county grows obese While others are deprived of food and drink Our populations quickly go up as theirs rapidly decrease. I always wondered why for race and religion we persecute Thank goodness the days are long gone by When the vicious penalty was the noose. I understand that there are those Much worse off than me For people who pulled their hearts closed and for families that can never be. It is for them, not myself that my heart breaks My troubles can wait on a shelf and cannot compare to the tidal wave their pain makes. Blackwidowgurl |

Interesting write, not bad at all. We're made a lot of promses and nobody likes to be betrayed or ganged up on and martyred, or to have that done to close friends. A lot of us don't like this being done to anybody. There's a lot of room for improvement these days, especially from the "vulgar" as you call them, that's for sure. |
