And so it slips
knowing what we know
this world so brimming with pain
the cuts and scrapes
blades of torment
driven deep inside
how we often cringe
to run and hide
avoid the flame, fires so bright
scorching our eyes,
devours the heart
how do you convince ourselves to go on?
a crack in our armor
a breach in the shield
magick of creation
a spirit so pure
has ever a lie tasted so sweet?
hope upon hope is all we can get

A thoughtful and thought-provoking write, thank you.
After awhile I suppose one begins to reassess just what this world, and our purpose in it through time, is really for.
