victim is a label which cannot arise from within you were not hit or raped as a child so often I fall prey to pain, sadness, and grief you had it good I was raped he was scorned we raised you away from all that |

Wow honestly a great piece of work! I adore how you can use such few words and thrust so much impact, so much meaning onto me. This was the best poem i have read in awhile. please keep writing! May fates path fulfill your dreams. |

Hey HeartofSteel: Thanks for the compliments man(or are u a lady?) I wrote this actually after reading a book on psychoanalysis and its relation to love not coming properly from the parents of children. I liked the way the book took seriously the impact that simple emotional gestures can have but I also realized that a lot of the patients discussed weren't victims of horrible things like rape or violence though they might have been victims of psychological assault. So this poem is my way of asking Does that make such victims' pain less of a concern? |
