I decided to write some truths i've been trying to avoid; and this is what it turned into

Screeching to a halt,
I'll turn,
watching you fall.
Slipping through my fingers.

It hurts to see you go,
you truly are my best friend.
I don't want to be distant.
But he says it's for the best,
and I'm convinced he wouldn't lie.

Soon I know it will all come back,
the sleepless nights,
those slow, painful days.
I think I've lost my sense.

I don't believe in happiness,
the world is just too dark.
I'll run away from smiles,
it's haunted eyes that give me comfort.

I feel so far away,
out of sight,
and out of your mind.
Things are dull,
slowly moving along,
almost as in protest.

I want to smile and mean it,
I want to laugh without crying,
I long to be myself again..
but I fear I've lost me.
I just want to be happy,
I didn't think that was too much to ask.

I want to believe in happiness,
I want to live my life.
But I know I wont get better,
If i don't let go of this knife.

Nice read. It makes me sad though

I like the fact that this read can bring out that emotion in a powerful way.
