Hidden in the oils,

Embracing the canvas so tight.

He paints her over and over,

Paintbrush taking flight.

In all colours of dress,

Surrounded by those she never knew.

In loving embraces, empty stares,

She lost her point of view.

She grows older in heart,

But on canvas she’s always young.

Trapped forever in youth,

Silenced forever in tongue.
