when they call do they say whether or not they’ll give you time to dress your children and wrap grandmother in a shawl before fleeing into the frigid air of their nightly gift death and destruction do they say there’s time to gather the crumbs from your meager existence a bag of flour or rice and all your hopes and dreams that never existed do they tell you where to go to be safe to shelter in your shoulder to shoulder world where life is a common breath and death the wall you lean on when others begin to fall before they disconnect do they hear the whisper “never forget" words from their history book reflected like rifles shining behind your children's innocent eyes [This message has been edited by JenniferMaxwell (01-02-2009 12:56 PM).] |

"do they say there’s time to gather the crumbs from your meager existence a bag of flour or rice and all your hopes and dreams that never existed" woah... Very nice. The word play here is great. Very nice read. |
