Breathless; force me down on my knees My body shakes at the sight of you staring at me This pain's elastic; I adjust to your needs Oh, but honey, it's apparent that there's no guarentee Disect my heart; notice it lacks a beat I'll fall apart if it means that you'll listen to me False apprehensions; and we're never at ease Emotional barabarians; enact the violence from within Dismissed; tell me, isn't it sad? It's not safe to assume that you would understand Take your best guess; and throw it away The prize was never worth the price that you had to pay Now why so clueless; I meant you no harm All I ever really wanted were some words to go on Imperfections; Never let you get far Still, despite the world you think we're 'luck of the draw' Was I misled; hold my head underneath All this pressure from the pleasure that you're wanting from me Inhale through plastic; what's becoming of me? I don't recall a promise with the right intentions to keep Tear me apart; no, really, I'd love to see The actions taken, step by step, until I agree Without direction; waking up on your knees Leaving me out on a limb; Replacing what we've never been Hear my disgretion; and to you, one glass raised Willing to bet that if we met then it just won't be the same Falsely accused; that I'm not who I claim If you don't like it, up and leave it, cause no way will I change Maybe it's true; and you'll like what you see But I warned you this would happen; don't come crying to me No more exceptions; you just need to believe This world is full of misery; the air we breathe, hypocrisy Emily Shives February 28th Sunday 2009 |
