trucks

what will they carry the trucks
allowed through the gaza gate
will they have sutures to reattach
limbs blown off by american
built and financed smart bombs
or a salve that brings dead
collateral damage back to life,
reassembles the women and children
blown to bits
in front of each others eyes
maybe a magic potion
that heals the wounds
of starvation and oppression
or a key that opens another gate
to a world beyond the ghetto
will there be
colorful brochures drawn
by blinded and limbless
lebanese children warning
gaza's own babes the enemy's
gaily colored gifts are
go boom cluster bombs
perhaps a sack of grain
to fatten the starving
sitting ducks in this barrel shoot
or a day's ration of rice to feed the
hunger of years, a cup of water
to quench the thirst of a people
for freedom
