All I want is to see you smile To see the desperation in your eyes disappear Even if it's not me who takes the pain away I can cope with rejection And treat the infection If you'd just smile Your voice sounds distant and troubled It hurts that you aren't always satisfied When I'm laying next to you But put a smile on your face And how could I complain Cause I know you've tried to figure it all out Time and time again it never makes sense Now if I'm not enough to get you through I'll still be waiting here with you Just hoping that someone will put a smile on your face It's true I'd rather hurt with you Than hear you sounding miserable I'm oblivious to the situation Even though I've tried countless times To get inside your head To figure out what makes you smile Because there's nothing else to live for A bond so tight, emotion's contagious I can't comprehend why nothing could save us But one legitimate smile And even if it's not me who takes the pain away I can cope with rejection And treat the infection If you'd just smile And I've got imperfections That end in obsession But I'd let it all go Cause I want you to know Nothing makes me feel the same When I see you smile August 28th Thursday 2008 Emily Shives |

Welcome, dear Emily, to Pip! I love the title of your first entry, but I can't say the same of your login name ... quote: Your poem is well written and I enjoyed reading it. To love someone like this seems very noble and selfless. But remember that you have the right of living in a sunny relationship. Without smiles the greatest flower of love is bound to wither ... Maybe he would "wake up" if you tiptoed silently out of his surroundings ... gaining the awareness of what you are for him. Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |
