It's man ... |

Perfection lies in sea and sand and in the wind, the trees, and through the change of seasons, tide, remains in essence beautiful. It’s man that shows no due regard and chops the forests down seeking so to change the truth like plastic surgery removes from a face experience and leaves in its place a stretched affair of neither depth nor character. It’s man that gags the sea and sand with spills of garbage, oil and the wind denied its free passage by buildings tall and dense. It’s man, you see, the you and me in essence beautiful that walks and talks a language foreign to the land but the earth silent in dismay merely looks the other way. I’ve looked the other way myself and I asked, “Please get me out” and, lo/behold, I left the fold of unhappiness. Heaven help me to believe the earth will never ask! You speak truth so masterfully, dear Helen! I think our beloved Earth tries in every way to ask for attention, but humanity and the world leaders are too busy to go deeper than a superficial overall acknowledgement of the "high time emergence" ... Thank you for this powerful reminder. May the awareness grow and expand and may we elect enlightened leaders that steer us into the right direction. ... if there are such people still! Meanwhile in our own endeavours it's up to us, to every single one of us. Thank you again for speaking up! Love and hugs. Margherita |

How true that man, in an attempt to improve the earth, failed to see that it was already perfect. I would like to show your poem to my class if I may, we are learning about man's effect on the earth. Well done. |

Thank you, Margherita. It's strange but I wasn't really thinking to write what I did. I guess it's a message from the one on high. I am enjoying my little patch of land these days so perhaps that filtered up. Helen |

Thanks, Kalandria. It would be an honour for me to have my poem read to your class. My boys used to get fed up with me every day saying, "Look at the mountain" but now they are nature lovers! Regards Helen |

Thanks, AC! The 1st September is officially spring here but the weather is gorgeous and already the earth is waking up. I wish I could say everyone who walks on it is waking up too but at least the plants are. Helen |

AC - It's supposed to be winter but spring seems to have come early this year. We can still have another cold spell but by that I mean two or three days only. However, there was one year when we actually had snow in September! That was amazing and so exciting. We've only had snow twice here in my lifetime so far. I was 16 the first time and the whole city closed down. Everyone was in the streets and there was great unity amongst the races. The snow and the unity was sadly gone the next day. Sigh! Love Helen |

Thank you Lindsay, Ida, and Marge! I'm not too sure about there being wisdom in my thoughts but they're mine so I guess I'm stuck with them. Helen |
