When midnight lovers take to lightened feet,
Their gaze shall climb the silver shafts of light
To the heights where all who love do meet;
And resting there upon the spellbound sight
Pure dreams of love take form, enchanting hearts
That lay detached from earthly strife; to bathe
In passion’s own delight, to bond two parts
As one and claim true love their only faith.
Oh, but the midnight magic potion casts
But fleeting kingdom of imagined bliss —
The hexing, silver mirage seldom lasts
Beyond the imprint of alluring kiss:
Then, midnight lovers, do make real your dreams,
Draw them down on the threads of silver beams.
