wrapping the sides of my mind
in the tinfoil permanence of waiting
to see if you are glass or liquid
when you press to my lips
the edges of your smile

we have discussed illusions
and fantasy with all of its pieces
and then we said maybe it could fit
if we hurried when no one was looking
and forced it quickly

hoping it would get stuck in glue
that was quicker than we were
but we didn't think it would
so we planned on trying again
just in case the first time didn't

and now we just love the practicing
