He can say just these two words: "YES" he nods so vigorous; and "wow" when looking at her eyes... three quarters dead. His fourth, failing-- "YES" he nods and needs a towel; and "wow" when someone offers it as she holds the cigarettes to his lips again. It is the course of life's disintegrate -- calm between them now. |

I don't care if I have to acknowledge it m'self--it belongs with the other two. Follow the bouncing ball.... "time it was and what a time it was it was a time of innocence a time of confidences.... Long ago it must be I have a... photograph--preserve your memory... They're all that's left...you." |

Darlin', I read the trilogy earlier today and could not respond. This was the first that I read and I was so touched. Does that sound trite? It reminded me of my father as he just before he died of cancer. Thank you for writing and sharing each of these poems -- and yes, I am on my way to bring the three together again. Alison |

"WOW" I have not had the time to read as often as I had been. What a treat to come in and find these three postings about Jim and Norma. I loved all of it. Do me a favor and promise to write my obit when it is time. Love ya, "late" |

Love your trilogy, You seem like a wonderful friend as well as a great poet. So now, your words have made them immortal. Ida |

Dearest friend Karen, I read your trilogy twice and I read them as very happy, but still I am bawling my eyes out. I am smiling too (in between sobs) AND praying AND wishing him big catfish. I am so glad Jim has Norma AND you; and that Norma has Jim AND you, and that you have them both. They, through you, (and you as well, of course) have enriched the lives of people all over the world - please tell them that from me, and Jim in a hurry. Like latearrival, I am seriously asking you the great honour of writing my obituary. Several times I have asked my son and/or daughter-in-law to let PIP know when I die and told them where to find PIP on my laptop. As sad as Jim and Norma's story is, in its happiness, it is good that there is time for Jim and Norma to say their goodbyes and all the things that they almost forgot to tell each other. I, as I know they too, feel so blessed to be called "friend" by you. You are everything anyone could want in a friend. Thank you for being Karen to Jim and Norma and us. - Owl |

oh my... smile Please don't ask me to write any more obituaries... I've written my own, yanno (just in case) and that's the last one! I'm very selfish, in that I have been so greatly gifted with so many wonderful friends, and I want to keep you ALL. thank you |

Oh, dear! And there I thought I had it made, with a Karen obituary! However, it is nice to know you still want me around! - Owl |

I hope I haven't left you feeling neglected, my dearest Owl. I neglect even myself though, so it wouldn't surprise me if you felt that... tsk... Whooooo do I love? YOU! *laughing* |
