sometimes it is the windows there
that seem to be witnesses to something
I recognize in my own expressions

as I look back at you wondering
what you are thinking behind the smile
and the nonchalant whatevering

I feel your hand thoughts entering
from the side street of my caution
and touching the crossing button

with wet fingers that leave residue
and I touch too after to hurry it
but the light never changes for us

and we stay there with the go on
