The river and I call to each other In a sunken afternoon Waltzing I go To the waves dancing by who will tango with me soon. But first I sit cross-legged upon the bank. If overwhelmed by the flow How far would I go before I yield And let the swell close rank. Would my journey end Short of the boat house where a dozen cadets may fetch me by their oars Gleeful as they heave ho and launch my body on the changing room floor. Or would I drift ocean bound Becoming of the food chain Unlikely to be found. |

There you again. You share such interesting poems. I am liking them a lot and will now have to go back and catch up on the ones that I have missed. Alison |

Spuddette, this is probably the only poem on this subject that I have enjoyed. However, I am only enjoying it, on the assumption that you are not considering any such action, and something tells me I am right - not because the poem doesn't seem real, but from the little I know of you. (PLEASE email me if I am wrong, as I can't let this go by without trying to help, and I believe I can.) I particularly loved the first stanza, and most particularly the first two lines. - Owl |
