Pre-comment: Kemit said it wasn't easy being green. For me there are days when it's not easy being woman. A rib to spare… I am born out of chaos, into chaos I return: a pouring of repair upon the earth. In a moment rent in haste with a smile upon my face I can hear the crack of rib upon my birth. A rite of passage pre-selected through some ancient order, will not dictate my becoming, or my birth. With squatters’ rights have I bludgeoned the barriers in the banned city of ambition, and worth. Breath of my breast, declare an evolution! No, more... a revolution of will, and the desire to survive! No!!! Even more, to thrive in the pulse of single word soliloquies, thrust upon the conscience of man! No! No! No! Years of despotic suggestion procreate suppression, indigestion by disguise, chafed by lies and lust, to thrust upon this moment, a spill of secrets. The weeping wound of perjury rails against her history, an infernal purgatory to her mind. The ministry of being amid chaos and yet seeing who will benefit from wisdom unadorned, for the choices of the many raise the voices of the few and they shout aloud the story of the scorned. Call to mother’s arms the militant and fearful, wipe away the tearful eye of ‘yore, and take into the battle, the keening cry of crow’s, and whisper in her throws, “Nevermore, nevermore!” (Post-script: Forgive me my beloved ravens and Poe. ) |

I, for one, won't forgive you for your ravens, crows and Poe. What possible reason would I, or anyone else, have, to forgive you when there is absolutely nothing to forgive! There is only pleasure in your excellent poetry, and this one is magnificent! It should be expounded in trauma counselling sessions for abused women all over the world - and it should be in every school syllabus, and not just in girls' schools! - Owl |

Oh, and when you next bump into Kermit, please tell him that I think he is very handsome and that green suits him perfectly! - Owl |

Thank you both of you...Ida and SD... Your encouragement means so much! There are days when we all, women and men, need to lift our chins, brush off our knees, and face the hard winds that blow our way... and two locked arm in arm are stronger than one. Friendship can go a long way to support a flagging self worth. SD... you are right...it is something I feel very passionately about. Lynda |
