Life-An Enigma Sometimes Life walks with me, We admire the world around us- The glories of the seas, the lands and the skies, The happiness on a child’s face, The harmonious ringing of church bells, The tenderness in your eyes. Sometimes, Life runs ahead of me, Looking over its shoulder, ever so often, My footsteps dragging, reluctant- Is that the world? Or surreal images floating in the periphery Of my mind? Your frown and my grudging feet. Sometimes Life does lag behind me, Do I surge then- Wings of illusion, Or is it mere ennui Dormant in the murky depths of placid waters? You, a stranger among strangers. |
