The Reason For The Season

I asked myself what have I to offer
and what do I have in gift to give?
I thought about it when seeing
signs of Christmas where I live.

Bright Mistletoe and Holly
decorate every street corner light,
and oh how the tree does shine
in the town square at night.

I looked up into the sky
at the stars shining so far away,
and I thought about a little manger
where Jesus was born on Christmas Day.

I wondered what I could ever give
to return this gift from above,
and what could I ever possibly offer
in comparison to his precious love?

I can only give my joyful praise
and be grateful for the season,
as we share this special time
and thank God for its reason.

May each of you have a very blessed Christmas/Holiday filled with friendship, peace and love~D
