Bones Can't Always Escape

Sometimes Bones
isn’t as quick and sharp
as he could be.

Sometimes Mom
and her man
will catch him
actually asleep.

Sometimes Bones
can’t get the window
open fast enough.

Then Bones gets caught.

Screaming and crying
just doesn’t help,
Bones can’t help himself,
and he does it anyway.

gets caught sleeping?! How is that bad?

Thanks dear SEA,

This poem is a follow-up on my "Bones Goes", a little further on down the page.

"Bones Goes"

Bones is upstairs,
lying in bed.

Mom and her latest man
are down stairs,
getting drunk.

Bones has all his clothes on,
just as a precaution,
in case things get nasty.

Bones hears them talking
down stairs,
they’re starting to talk
about him.

They’re not saying
anything nice.

Bones hears footsteps
on the stairs.

Bones opens the window,
he’s gone.
