This is a whole lot longer than my usual poems. but I was in a better mood than I ever normally am so I couldn't resist recording the feeling in a poem... Gently the wind tugs at my hair I breathe the chill in… Fill myself with morning’s air Before now life was hollow I never felt free before… Today, for once, I waltz on tiptoes The bird’s song is a memory From a childlike dream… It sweetly wakes me from my reverie I despised my reflection yesterday I glance in the water… Blue eyes, with no tears falling astray Maybe it’s the freshness of nature Giving me this hope… Quite a new essence from my manner Nothing makes sense at this moment It truly doesn’t matter… Inner peace; a delight to a heart so vacant Middle of winter feels like spring I look out up the sky… Amazing the effect the view can bring So much joy, no tears were supplied Yet they cover my face… I fall to my knees, and laugh as I cry Was it always this simple smile? Never in my time… I think I shall take up this easier lifestyle A permanently placed outlook; all it takes Staring outside for a reminder… Soothing the pain easily numbs the ache Brightening my soul with indifferent cares I will remain happy… Losing the fears I‘ve hid all these years I must return to my tired reality Dreadfully I turn… The hope thankfully remains with me From dawn, to dusk, to dawn… |

Your good mood shines through in the imagery. I've found a strong draught of nature is always a good restorative for me, too. I enjoyed this a lot. |
