Roses are Real Have you ever chased a rainbow? The moist air had clung to my skin Uneven paths swallowed my feet And when progress was made I saw What I wanted was out of reach. Even so the sun still shown down And I could feel warmth in its stead. The rain’s smell evaporated And disappeared into the wind I fell in love with the flower I could feel their velvet petals, The razor-sharp pierce of a thorn, All proof enough it existed. Proof I existed Was the roses… -Juju -"So you found a girl Who thinks really deep thoughts What's so amazing about really deep thoughts " Silent all these Years, Tori Amos [This message has been edited by Juju (12-16-2008 10:54 PM).] |

Wow! What an incredibly powerful, mesmerizing, existential verse. It has the texture of silk. I absolutely loved it. |

Yo dear Juli, Nice rainbow poem. This works very well. It puts me in mind of a rainbow incident. I'll do a poem about it. Love Bobby |

J-dizzle, This was excellent, and struck a nerve with me. -Paula Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand. |

You do indeed belong with the beauty of roses my friend, I was looking for that treasure at the end of the rainbow with you in this, finding your words were the reward; then wakened by the thorns. Enjoyed this read Juju, and your way of expression. Thank you for sharing. Rick |
