Nothing is more painful Than having to really go When miles extend to nowhere The ground immersed in snow When the wind-she is a blowing You forgot to stop for gas Mother nature is a calling You've got to go...and fast No trees align the highway... Oh, perhaps behind that sign That fence post looks inviting Some pines would be divine No tissue in the glove box Towels gone beneath the seat Kids used up all the napkins This will be no easy feat Of course! Here comes a convoy I see sirens in my mirror And there I see before me A jack-knifed trucker missed a deer So, I put it into four-wheel And shot across the plains Then rolled a great big snowball Passers-by think me insane In the center carved a hammock Two arms complete the chair A tall back would keep me hopeful From any awkward stare I sat upon my snow throne So, no one could really see Oh what's a girl to do When she really must go pee disclaimer: no animals were injured in the creation of this poem My credit's not Bad...I'm just protecting myself from identity theft! I can't help but think if you had time to do all that carving, you had time to get to the next gas station. Once my sister and I were eyeing passing tank farms speculatively. There was no mesquite more than two feet high and you could see three miles in all directions. Not the place to have a need. Oh, the fun of cross-country trips! I really enjoyed this poem, it made me chuckle. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

I loved the humor of this. Those who have never visited the northern states don't appreciate the pure, unadulterated beauty of a single tree! |

Thank you for the smiles, I think many can relate, because that kind of urgency can't wait! A very nice fun read. Love, Margherita |

Well bless your soul! That was a hoot 'n a half! I love your self-effacing humor! I am sure there are many readers who will be able to relate to your dire situation! ~ I know I do! So good to be reading you again! ~ and I think it is marvelous that you brought your "twisted" son Brice, aboard! With love and laughs, Linda |
