I want to say to you,
I have little to say today,
but enough so that goes away
this smell of coffee
(coffee never looks innocent)
of a whole district,
I went away from the bus station
and the coffee captured me,
(coffee never looks innocent)….
Lost city, nervous town,
I found life worth living again.

Yo Yann,

Knoxville is an interesting town.  What I remember most was all the lights along the road.  I never spent much time there, only passed through it years ago.

I have never been to Knoxville, but mmmmm, I do understand being captured by the smell of coffee - I love your way of putting it - coffee never looks innocent!

This is captivating, dear Yann.

And the conclusion is uplifting.

For sure I have never thought of coffee as not being innocent, but I guess I know what you mean.

Love,
Margherita

Yann, I am always intrigued by your poetic perceptions of the world around you! ~ and your unique turns of phrase!

~ "(coffee never looks innocent)"

btw, I'm as nervous as the city of Knoxville whenever I over-indulge in coffee! lol

Hi Bobby, I landed at the greyhound station at midnight 12 years ago and I didn't feel very safe walking in this nervous town, I don't know if I like this city cause I didn't stay long here but I was a little scared while searching for an hotel a saturday night, I found one but it didn't acccept me and called a taxi for a pale trip in the suburbs...However I remember the mell of coffee in the streets, it was delicious despite my frightened mood.

thank you for the comment.

Thanks dear Owl, I tried to express that some drinks are not only for pleasure but for changing in bad or good the soul, alcohols, tea, coffee are not innocent, there are link to work, depressions, etc....
these drinks mirrors humanity...Thank you for your kind comment.

Thank you Steavenr, I'm glad you like this original verse that tells a lot of things (far beyond the essence of the coffee) in its use...Thanks again

Thank you dear Margherita, your kind and subtle comments are a good stimulation (french word often works in english)

Hi Linda, I am doubtful of my use  of english
"coffee never looks innocent" can be awkward a little bit for an american reader
but dont forget I'm french

I think it must be enjoyable for an american do read sentences like that...

thank you for your very appreciated comment
