Just THINGS Having no "Estate", the panic set in as the "YARD SALE" signs went up, only to see a 150 year old roll top desk being loaded on the huge pick up. Waiting took too long and that addition never materialized... Solid oak, polished to my likes sent off for a petty need to survive. Holding onto the brass samovar, (Russian, a Grandfather's legacy) hands lovingly placed it back into the house not quite as old, hiding it from my senses of touch and sight so as not to devalue it. Sometimes it was "eeny", "meeny" and other times "moe", deciding what needed to stay and what needed to go~~ M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." I usually do the one potato two potato and see if I still hunger for it when I am done. Life sometimes forces the hard decision and maybe that is why our memories can run so deep when we need them to. |

Yo dear M, I never sell anything. It's all stuffed away somewhere, or given to the kids. I liked the part about the brass samovar, it's good you didn't let it go. Love Bobby |

Huan Yi had a new challenge about Estate Sales so I thought I would write about when I had a need to have money to pay bills a few years back and disappointedly had to sell an antique roll top desk that I had wanted to have in an office addition to my home if I had the money to do that. Obviously my timing was poor and I had to sell it for much less than it was worth... thanks for responding M |

Awwww, I know how hard it is to get rid of things. Expecially, when you have had them for so long. I am sure there are more things that I could get rid of. |

Dear M, there was indeed sadness in these words and thoughts of regret, I know the feeling to sell something for less than its worth to then want it back, but it alas is far gone. The memories linger for a long time. A good read my friend. Thank you for sharing. Rick |
