Lifeblood drains to barren paper Soul pours out through a poised pen Pleading to be more than a vapor I confine my heart and thoughts again With scrambled imaginings I contend The story of my imagined travels Will I still be forgotten at the end? When life’s final thread unravels? These words, half-mine yet half immortal Wander aimlessly across my page Are they doomed to become full mortal? Deep sadness comes, though never rage My plea to you is; read and enjoy Give dignity to the lonely words of a boy |

I am just beginning to discover your poetry, Freely, and I like it. Keep them coming and the others will notice too. When I first came onto the site it took a while. You write with a wonderful maturity for one so young. Ida |

Thanks so much for your kind and supporting words I hope you didn't take this poem in the potentially pettish way i realized some people could. I'm sort of just working through concepts and recognizing how far out on a limb people go by expressing themselves publicly. I shall have to read some of your poems Thanks again for the encouragement! Ben |
