the Stars of a night in Vietnam are crystallised in time forever Memories echo with the sight of bloodshot comrades who have seen too much The neon search lights of whirring helicopters try to find the fallen Survivors are scarred by the horrors of a nightmare they can't wake up from Years later golden moonlight is the catalyst to remember the failed missions The shuffle of feet as broken men returning to camp, unlucky enough to remember Survivors still carrying their burdens are driven to the bottle of alcholic gems Savoring each drop of memory stealing liquid- still trying to wake up |

As long as I will live the scenes shot by camera in Vietnam shown to me by vets are going to haunt me. You did this well. We took in vets during this time, and the stories were beyond horrific! I bless your troops for all that they do for your country and for ours. The remnants of war are the most heartbreaking, especially when they are in a country as beautiful as this one. |

quote: Powerful expressions, that really show the lasting dramatic consequences of that war. It should have represented a lesson learnt! Love, Margherita |

well captured moments of darkness in the bright lights of memory...hard to remember fondly, but you do it justice (and that is not often done) |

golden moonlight is the catalyst I don't think I would have understood this as well a year ago... for my impressions of Vietnam were formed by the images of death and destruction and reinforced by the nightmares my friends have to this day. But several months ago, I was talking with someone about the "places" that stirred us most deeply... and I was surprised when he said that the most beautiful place he'd ever seen was Vietnam... that the terrain so often worked against our soldiers that it was considered another enemy... but a beautiful enemy. Reading this, I'm reminded to say thanks every chance I get. |
