A momentary glimmer Of evaporating light Shines as the sky comes dimmer And the fearless turn to fright My soul extends beyond my eyes Pure hands that won’t destroy To grasp life’s breath that is its prize Before darkness smothers joy Soft in my palm, the seed of life This coolly blazing ember The Guardian against dark strife “Dawn will come!” I remember The light expands, pulsing bright Rapt faces, all forget the night |

Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it as I haven't written a sonnet for a while. My imagination has always resonate with the concept of the eyes being the window to the soul. Regards, Ben |

I'd pick the same line Steven chose as my favorite. |
